What happens when sports conquer the city? We ask this to girls and boys born in 2009, 2010 and 2011: tell it with a photo! Sports in the urban context is the theme of the CAPACITyES photo contest “ALTOLÀ – Sports surprise the city”. The initiative is open to boys and girls of the secondary schools in Bergamo.
Theme
Sports can be an interesting point of view on marginal and forgotten spaces of the city: through sports we can show the new ways of aggregation among children and promote the inclusion of all citizens. Sports play an important role for children: kids need to be aware of their right to play and practice sports.
In a city sports practice is also entwined with other dynamics and issues, such as environmental sustainability, the fight against social inequalities, changes linked to the spread of technology, new social habits.
The competition
With “Altolà” we ask boys and girls to explore these themes in pictures, in a competition that will give away a voucher of 400 euro to buy sports equipment and materials or to pay registration fees, medical examinations and so on.
The selected photos will be distributed in the city as posters and will be on display in an exhibition. There will also be a “showcase” via social networks, on the official profiles of CAPACITyES.
How does the contest work? The photos must be presented from April 13 to May 5, with an email to scattidisport@csibergamo.it or delivered on USB devices to CSI Bergamo. A jury will choose the winners, with an award for the most liked picture on social media.
All entries must be created by groups: school classes, sports team, groups of friends… Creating together is great!
