Live alongside the families who will move into the new Borgo Palazzo development and be directly involved in the CAPACITyES adventure to help to build the city of tomorrow. This is the invitation the project team is extending to the city’s families, with or without children: we are looking for two households willing to take up residence in the co-housing building to share this experience with the 12 families who will be moving into the newly renovated accommodation in a few months’ time.
How will the facility work?
Each family will have its own apartment, but there will also be a series of communal spaces where they can meet, socialise and cooperate in the running of daily life. The project is addressed to vulnerable families, who will be the focus not only of this “collective living” experiment but also of a real learning process to consolidate their independence and integrate them into the community. The supporting neighbours will be assigned apartments for at least 3+2 years, in exchange for a contribution towards expenses.
What will the supporting neighbours’ duties be?
Assisted by the staff of the CAPACITyES partner organisations, the two families will act as contacts and leaders for the co-housing project’s residents. The supporting neighbours will help to manage the building and will facilitate relations between residents by ensuring that the communal areas are “live” spaces and organising activities and initiatives, also open to the entire district, with the other residents. This is why we are looking for outgoing, flexible people who have time to accompany the other families in this process. The call for applications is open to married and unmarried couples, with and without children: the document with full details and the contacts for requesting further explanations is published on the City Authority website.
